Discuss how you feel about teaching writing. Are you comfortable teaching writing or do you wish you felt a little more knowledgeable? Are you a writer yourself? Do you practice what you teach?
I feel pretty comfortable teaching 2nd grade writing. I taught 4th grade for several years and that was a bit more stressful due to higher expectations. I am not much of a writer myself, I only spend time writing when a class/job requires it really. I should do better about journaling, but I just don't make the time to do it.
